Kelly Rizzo Remembers Husband Bob Saget 6 Months After His Death: “The World Is Still Not the Same Without You”

Kelly Rizzo ( Kelly Rizzo ) celebrated six months since the death of her husband, Bob Saget, with an Instagram post. The 65-year-old Full House star was found unresponsive in his Orlando hotel room on Jan. 9, just hours after performing standing, and was later determined to have died from an accidental blunt head injury caused by a fall.

In a post shared on Instagram, Rizzo, 43, reflected on life without her husband, whom she married in 2018. The Eat Travel Rock TV show host also shared a video clip of their life together, set to Bruce Springsteen’s “Hopeful Places and Dreams.”

In her captioned text, the widow opens up about her struggle with the loss of her “loving husband” while “searching for a silver lining” – including growing closer to her three adult daughters from Saget’s first marriage. Three adult daughters from Sajit’s first marriage grew closer.

“Six months without my best friend, my travel companion, my beloved husband,” she wrote. “6 months without your silliness, laughter, music, cuteness, care, wit, thoughtfulness, hugs and warmth. But also 6 months of finding a silver lining, learning how to brave the world without you, 6 months of caring and compassion from so many who love you, 6 months of being closer to your magical daughter and trying to be strong together. 6 months of continuing to love, laugh and live because that’s what you want …… you’ll hold on to. Even if you want to make sure we all still miss you …… Dear God, we did once.

“We miss you so much every day,” she continued. “Love you, honey, the world still isn’t the same without you.”

Jana Kramer, Kevin Nealon, Selma Blair and Amanda Kloots all rallied around Rizzo and made supportive comments.

In May, Rizzo spoke with Kloots (whose own husband, Broadway star Nick Cordero, died in 2020 from complications of COVID-19) about grief and trying to make sense of life as a widow. During the conversation, Rizzo talked about the home she and Saget moved out of three months after his death and how she still considers the comedian and actor to be her “husband.

“Like, he’s still my husband,” Rizzo said of Saget. “It’s not like, ‘Oh, he’s my ex-husband.’ It’s like …… It’s a different relationship now. It’s just – that’s it.”

She also shared how focusing on Saget’s daughter helped her own grieving process.

“I knew Bob would want me to be there for his girls,” she explained. “I’m not as focused on my own grief when I’m trying to help them or support them or be there for them. When I’m doing little things to try to make them happy, it kind of takes me out of my head. At the same time I’m thinking, ‘Oh, this will make Bob happy, just knowing that I’m trying to make them happy.'”
